Goyla Dairy - New Delhi

Publié par Smiling Children

This project is located in Goyla Dairy slum near Dwarkha, New Delhi. The slum is inhabited by Dalits (low caste) and Muslims. Sanitary conditions are poor and people suffer from many diseases due to insalubrious water.

The project focuses first on the education of unprivileged kids. Tuition centers are opened and one social worker is there to give a hand to the families. English class are also provided on a daily basis. There is also a nursery school. Micro-financing projects to help the women build their house, organise the wedding of their kids etc are very successful.

Education is not only about going to school but also developing a critical mind and becoming involved in a sustainable society. Hence, we also aim at raising awareness on environment.

Drugs, alcohol, and prostitution are also a plague in such environment and having such projects can help avoiding such scourge.
